May 1, 2024. Milan, Italy. President of the public fund "Apostle" G.G. Sosnovsky met with the rector of the parish in the name of St. Ambrose of Milan and Archimandrite Ambrose (Makar).
Father Ambrose is a famous church figure and Orthodox scholar, doctor of canon law, author of numerous articles on canon law, church history, biblical textual criticism and moral theology.
As a gift from the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, for the upcoming feast of the Holy Resurrection of Christ, Georgy Gennadievich gave Archimandrite Ambrose a shrine - an icon with a particle of the relics of St. Sebastian of Karaganda, the last Elder of Optina and the heavenly patron of the Great Steppe.
Father Ambrose expressed words of gratitude to Metropolitan Alexander and warmly thanked G.G. Sosnovsky for delivering the shrine. The pastor noted that during the days of Holy and Bright Weeks, believers in Orthodox parishes in Lombardy will be able to venerate the image of St. Sebastian.
Georgy Gennadievich donated the book-album “Kazan Cathedral of the City of Almaty” to the parish library, published by the Apostle Foundation on the occasion of a historically and spiritually significant date - the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.
During the conversation, G.G. Sosnovsky told Archimandrite Ambrose about the joint spiritual, educational and cultural projects of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District and the Apostle Foundation, carried out with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan. In particular, about the translation of the Bible into the Kazakh language, holding exhibitions of church art, creating a house-museum for the confessor of the faith, Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov), works to perpetuate the memory of the new martyrs and confessors of Kazakhstan, preaching Orthodoxy on social networks.
