September 28, 2024 marks the 53rd anniversary of the birth of the secretary of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, choirmaster of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, member of the Patriarchal Council for the Development of Russian Church Singing O.N. Ovchinnikov.
Oleg Nikolaevich was congratulated by the head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
His Eminence's welcoming address reads:
Dear Oleg Nikolaevich, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your birthday!
"Sing to our God, sing; sing to our King, sing" (Psalm 46:7), - sounds the call of the king and prophet David. From a young age, you chose the path of serving God and people in the field of church musical art. For many years, together with the groups you lead, you have been testifying to people about the heavenly beauty of Orthodoxy through majestic chants.
For almost fifteen years, the Metropolitan District Choir has existed under your leadership in Kazakhstan, the high professionalism of which has been noted by connoisseurs of musical culture, and the special character of the performance of works has been loved by Kazakhstanis. You combine your regent and composer work with the responsible obedience of the secretary of the Metropolitan District and work in the Church and Public Council under the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' for the development of church singing. Your multifaceted activities have been noted by high church and secular awards, which testifies to the recognition of your talents and merits by society and the enduring importance of sacred music for the moral and cultural formation of the human personality. On this special day for you, I wish you, dear Oleg Nikolaevich, strength, creative longevity, peace, prosperity and many years of service to God and people in the field of church musical art.
