On September 22, 2024, on the 13th week after Pentecost, the day of remembrance of the new martyrs and confessors of Kazakhstan, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, students of the Alma-Ata Theological Seminary made a pilgrimage to the Seraphim-Feognost men's hermitage, located in the Aksai gorge on the territory of the Ili-Alatau National Park.
A tour was held for the pilgrimage group at the site of the monastic exploits and the painful death of the heavenly patrons of the Southern capital and Semirechye - the holy martyrs Seraphim and Feognost.
Then the seminary students took part in a prayer service with the reading of the Akathist to the Holy Martyrs Seraphim and Theognost, which was led by priest Andrei Raspopin, and venerated the reliquary with the relics of the sufferers of Christ.
The students of the theological school bowed to the burial place of the martyrs marked with a cross; talked with the abbot of the monastery, Hegumen Trifon (Pechkovsky) and the brethren; visited the cells, inspected the outbuildings, territory and lands of the skete.
The pilgrimage was organized by the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary with the support of the Apostol Foundation (President - G.G. Sosnovsky).
