Resolution of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' on the report of the Kostanay diocese

September 6, 2024. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' reviewed the report of the Kostanay diocese of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District for the past year and sent his Primate's resolution to the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.

The document, in particular, states:

- I thank you and your assistants for your efforts to organize life in the diocese entrusted to your care in 2023.

For the Kostanay diocese, the past year was significant in the development of parish, social, construction and educational activities.

I would especially like to express my gratitude to all those responsible for the creative work in the construction of the diocesan spiritual, cultural and administrative center named after the first bishop of Kustanai Timon (Rusanov), which houses the diocesan administration, a house church and all the necessary premises for successful church preaching. It is gratifying that various church, social and educational events are already being successfully held on the basis of the opened spiritual and cultural center.

I also note the good work in the matter of returning the building of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the village of Oktyabrsky, Kostanay district, to the use of the Kostanay diocese, which has been in the hands of schismatics for several years. Preparatory work is underway to build new churches on the territory of the diocese.

I very positively evaluate the work in building a constructive dialogue with government bodies. Friendly relations between the Church and the state are the key to peaceful and fruitful coexistence.

Youth ministry also deserves high praise. The growing number of participants in the Orthodox youth movement is evidence of a competent approach to working with young people. It is gratifying that numerous educational and charitable events are held in which young people participate. It is always gratifying that graduates of Sunday schools subsequently participate in the life of the Church: they become singers in the choir, sextons, and activists of the youth movement.

I hope that the Orthodox faith will multiply in the vastness of the Kazakh land.
