Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Trinity Church of the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in the city of Almaty.
The Head of the Metropolitan District was assisted by: the dean of the churches of Almaty, the rector of the St. Nicholas Cathedral, Archpriest Valery Zakharov; Rector of the Almaty Church in Honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" Archpriest Yevgeny Vorobyov, Key Bearer of the Nativity of Christ Cathedral Archpriest Alexander Gaichenya, Head of the Metropolitan's Personal Secretariat Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky), Head of the Administrative Secretariat of the Head of the Metropolitan District Priest Georgy Sidorov, Head of the Correspondence Department of the Almaty Orthodox Theological Seminary Priest Daniil Bobylev, Key Bearer of the Kazan Cathedral in Almaty Priest Georgy Rublinsky, Cleric of the Nativity of Christ Church Priest Maxim Idrisov, Protodeacon Nikolai Grinkevich, Head of the Metropolitan's Protocol Service Protodeacon Roman Golovin, Protodeacon Vladimir Syrovatsky, Chief Physician of the Orthodox Medical Center named after St. Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky) Deacon Alexander Dzhodzhua.
The choir of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Almaty sang under the direction of E. Skorova.
The following prayed at the service: members of the Society of Orthodox Doctors of Kazakhstan, employees of the medical center named after St. Luke, employees of the Almaty diocesan administration, and parishioners of the church.
The sermon on the communion verse was delivered by priest Daniil Bobylev.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Alexander cordially thanked the clergy and parishioners for their common prayer, congratulated those gathered on the celebration in honor of the Apostle Bartholomew, and delivered a sermon.
The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan warmly congratulated his subdeacon Ilya Yatsenko on his birthday and presented him with a holy prosphora, wishing him God's mercy, spiritual and physical health, and zealous service to the Church of Christ.
