August 18, 2024. Uralsk. On the eve of the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, after the all-night vigil in the Transfiguration Cathedral, Bishop Vianor of Uralsk and Atyrau performed the monastic tonsure of a cleric of the Mikhailovsky Cathedral in Uralsk, Deacon Artemy Rybalchenko.

Those who prayed at the tonsure were: Archbishop Anthony (Moskalenko), rector of the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael in Uralsk Archimandrite Feodosiy (Kuryanov), cleric of the Pokrovsky Convent in Uralsk Archimandrite Dionysius (Kozulev), dean of the Ural District Archpriest Vladimir Garasim, dean of the Priural District Archpriest Vasily Kroitor, cleric of the Pokrovsky Convent Archdeacon Vasily (Kryukov), abbess of the Pokrovsky Convent Abbess Varvara (Morozova) and the city clergy.

The tonsured man received the name Arseny - in honor of Saint Arseny, Archbishop of Kerkyra.

After the tonsure, the administrator of the Ural Diocese addressed the newly tonsured hierodeacon Arseny with words of instruction.
