Metropolitan Alexander led the celebrations on the occasion of the day of remembrance of St. George Konissky in Mogilev (+VIDEO)

On August 6, 2024, on the day of remembrance of St. George (Konissky), Archbishop of Mogilev, spiritual celebrations were held in the Transfiguration Cathedral of the city of Mogilev (Belarus).
The festive Divine Liturgy was led by: the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the Head of the Central Asian Metropolitan District, Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, and the Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl.
The archpastors were assisted by: Archbishop Sophrony of Mogilev and Mstislav, Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin, Archbishop Stefan of Gomel and Zhlobin, Archbishop Amfilohiy of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk, Archbishop Anthony of Grodno and Volkovysk, Bishop Seraphim of Bobruisk and Bykhov, Bishop Leonid of Turov and Mozyr, Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoye, Bishop Ambrosius of Borisov and Maryinogorsk, Bishop Eusebius of Drutsk, Vicar of the Vitebsk Diocese, Bishop Avksentiy of Nesvizh, Vicar of the Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.
During the Liturgy, the hierarchs were assisted by: the executive secretary of the Administration of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Andrei Volkov, the clergy of the Mogilev diocese and invited guests in holy orders.
The deacon rank was headed by Archdeacon Vladimir Nazarov.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the choir under the direction of choirmaster Svetlana Mikhailova.
The employees of the departments and commissions of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, headed by O.N. Ovchinnikov, Honored Artist of Russia, prayed during the service.
The chairman of the Mogilev city executive committee, Alexander Viktorovich Studnev, and the chairman of the Mogilev city council of deputies, Maxim Nikolaevich Gurin, were present in the church.
The sermon before Communion was delivered by Priest Nikolai Antonov.
After the dismissal of the Liturgy, the archpastors and clergy performed the glorification of St. George.
The Many Years were sung to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', and to all participants in the celebrations. Metropolitan Alexander, Metropolitan Vikenty, and Metropolitan Veniamin blessed the believers with the cross.
At the end of the service, the Patriarchal Exarch thanked the Heads of the Kazakhstan and Central Asian Metropolitan Districts for their visit and joint prayers and congratulated everyone on the celebrations in honor of St. George of Konisi, the enlightener of the Mogilev region and the entire Belarusian land.
Archbishop Sophrony of Mogilev and Mstislav, Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, and Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan addressed those present with words of greeting.
For his efforts to develop relations between the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan and the Belarusian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Veniamin was awarded the order "Beybitshilik pen Kelisim" (Peace and Harmony).
On the same day, the archpastors held a prayer service at the monument to St. George, Archbishop of Mogilev, located on the observation deck near the city park "Podnikolye".
Representatives of the state authorities of the Republic of Belarus, parishioners of city churches and pilgrims from nearby settlements prayed at the service.
At the end of the prayer service, its participants laid flowers at the monument in honor of the heavenly patron of the country.
