July 17, 2024 is the day of remembrance of the holy royal passion-bearers Emperor Nicholas, Empress Alexandra, Tsarevich Alexei and the Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia.
In 1891, during the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway, Nikolai Alexandrovich, being the heir to the throne, visited the lands where the Kostanay region is now located. The village of Presnogorkovka became one of many villages that lay along the route of the heir to the Russian throne. In this place, the future passion-bearer Emperor Nicholas II stayed in the house of the merchant Vasily Kladenov.
With the blessing of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, in memory of the visit of the Tsar Martyr Nicholas to the borders of modern Kazakhstan in 2022, a religious procession was established from the Nikolsky Church to the house of the merchant V. Kladenov.
On the night of July 16-17, with the blessing of the temporary administrator of the Kostanay and Rudny Diocese, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the dean of the Sarykol church district, Archpriest Vitaly Kleba, in concelebration with the diocesan clergy, celebrated the night Liturgy in the church in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, in the village of Presnogorkovka.
Before the start of the service, the consecration of the tombstone cross on the grave of the holy martyr Basil Preobrazhensky was performed.
The choir of the Nikolsky Church sang under the direction of O. Golubeva.
At the end of the Liturgy, a religious procession took place from the Nikolsky Church to the house of the merchant V. Kladenov. At the place where the passion-bearer Emperor Nicholas II stopped, priest Vitaly performed a prayer service to the royal martyrs, after which he congratulated all those present on the holiday and addressed the believers with a sermon. Several hundred people took part in the religious procession.
