The 130th anniversary of the founding of the Iversko-Peter and Paul Convent was prayerfully celebrated in the Kostanay diocese

On July 12, 2024, on the day of remembrance of the holy supreme apostles Peter and Paul, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a Liturgy was celebrated in the church of the same name at the revived Iversko-Peter and Paul Convent. This year marks 130 years since the founding of the monastery.
The service was led by the secretary of the Kostanay diocese, Hieromonk Gennady (Burdyuzha), co-served by the city clergy.
Orthodox residents of the village and pilgrims prayed at the Liturgy.
The choir of the Constantine and Helen Cathedral sang under the direction of T. Zhebrak.
At the end of the service, glorification of the supreme apostles took place, after which the believers walked in a religious procession around the temple.
Many years were proclaimed to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill; To the head, archpastors, clergy and flock of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District; To the President, authorities, military and all the people of Kazakhstan.
Hieromonk Gennady congratulated the clergy and parishioners on the patronal feast day and a significant event in the spiritual life of the village of Oktyabrskoye - the 130th anniversary of the founding of the Iversko-Peter and Paul Convent and the patronal feast day of the monastery.
At the end of the service, in the vestibule of the Peter and Paul Church, the opening of the photo exhibition “Orthodox Kustanai in Color” took place, dedicated to the significant date since the creation of the monastery. After the welcoming speech from the secretary’s father, the dean of the Kostanay church district, Priest Andrei Krutin, told the audience about the concept of the exhibition, drawing attention to some rare photographs.
