Memorial Day of the Reverend Confessor Irakli of Issyk-Kul. The head of the Metropolitan District celebrated the Liturgy at the Church of the Intercession in the city of Issyk

June 10, 2024 is the day of remembrance of the Venerable Confessor Irakli of Issyk-Kul, a celebration in honor of the Chukhloma Icon of the Mother of God.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan performed the Divine Liturgy in the church in honor of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in the city of Issyk, Alma-Ata region.

The head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District was concelebrated by: Bishop Ignatius of Aktobe and Kyzylorda, vicar of the Astana diocese, Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan; rector of the Almaty Church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” Archpriest Evgeny Vorobyov, rector of the Church in honor of the Epiphany of the Lord in the village of Malovodnoye Archpriest Nikolai Tkachenko, rector of the Alekseevskaya Church in the village of Baiterek Archpriest Anatoly Boyko, rector of the Paraskevi Church in the city of Talgar Archpriest Vladimir Bartashevich, rector Spaso-Siluanova Issyk Hermitage Hegumen Nazariy (Markov), rector of the Archangel Michael Church in the village of Turgen, hieromonk Varsonofy (Larionov), cleric of the Alekseevsky Church in the village of Baiterek, hieromonk Alexy (Samosenkov), head of the personal secretariat of the metropolitan, hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky), head of the administrative secretariat of the Head of the Metropolitan district priest Georgy Sidorov, rector of the Alexander Nevsky Church in the village of Saimasai (Alexandrovka); priest Roman Klyuev, acting dean of the Talgar church district, rector of the St. Nicholas Church of the city of Talgar priest Kirill Freigang, hieromonk Ambrose (Dudonov); Protodeacon Nikolai Grinkevich, head of the Metropolitan's protocol service, Protodeacon Roman Golovin, Protodeacon Vladimir Syrovatsky, Deacon John Churkin.

The hymns of the Liturgy were performed by the men's choir of the Alma-Ata diocese under the direction of Deacon Alexander Pivny.

Praying during the service were: Orthodox residents of the city of Issyk and nearby settlements.

The sermon on the sacramental verse was delivered by Priest Kirill Freigang.

The liturgy ended with glorification of the feast of the Holy Resurrection of Christ and the Reverend Confessor Heraclius, after which the Metropolitan pronounced the exclamation “Christ is Risen!” in different languages - ancient and modern, and sprinkled the believers with holy water.

The head of the Metropolitan District congratulated the archpastors, clergy and parishioners of the church on the ongoing celebrations of the resurrection of Christ from the dead and addressed those gathered with a sermon.

At the end of the service, in prayerful memory of the event, His Eminence handed over to the temple an icon of the venerable confessor Heraclius of Issyk-Kul. Hieromonk Ambrose gratefully accepted the shrine from the hands of the hierarch.
