Dear Metropolitan Alexander!
I congratulate you and all Orthodox Christians on the 170th anniversary of the founding of the oldest church in Astana - the Cathedral of Constantine and Helena. It adorns our capital, testifies to the bright and tragic pages of history, and reveals the inner strength of the multinational and multi-confessional people of Kazakhstan.
The Cathedral of Constantine and Helena is an integral part of the cultural and spiritual heritage of Astana. Over these 170 years, it has been and remains a center of attraction for all who seek solace, wisdom and strength in faith. Here we find inspiration for good deeds and good thoughts.
Today, as at all times, the Orthodox Church promotes the moral education of the younger generation, the formation in the minds of people of the ideals of goodness, mercy and love for their native country. The clergy are making efforts to establish mutual respect in society and preserve the rich historical and cultural heritage of our common home - Kazakhstan.
On this holiday, I wish everyone good health, peace of mind and prosperity. May the Cathedral of Constantine and Helena continue to be a source of light and kindness for all of us for many years to come!
