May 24, 2024 is the day of remembrance of Saints Methodius and Cyril, Equal-to-the-Apostles, teachers of Slovenia. Name day of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan performed the Divine Liturgy at the Assumption Church in the Kemel microdistrict (former Pervomaisky village) of the city of Almaty.

Concelebrating with the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan were: the dean of the churches of the southern capital, the rector of St. Nicholas Cathedral, Archpriest Valery Zakharov; rector of the Almaty church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow”, Archpriest Evgeny Vorobyov; dean of the Ili church district, rector of the Assumption parish, Archpriest Alexander Zyryanov; rector of the Church in the name of Righteous John of Kronstadt, Zhetygen village, Alma-Ata region, Archpriest Vadim Alekseev; Archpriest Georgy Lagovsky, rector of the Elias Church in the village of Karaoi; priest Alexander Ageev, rector of the Seraphim Church in the village of Chapaevo; head of the Metropolitan District Commission for Charity and Social Service, Archpriest Vyacheslav Pugachev; head of the Metropolitan’s personal secretariat, Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky); head of the administrative secretariat of the Head of the Metropolitan District, Priest Georgy Sidorov; Priest Vladimir Shishlov, rector of the Dimitrievsky Church in the village of Bayserke; Protodeacon Nikolai Grinkevich; Head of the Metropolitan Protocol Service, Protodeacon Roman Golovin; Protodeacon Vladimir Syrovatsky and Deacon John Churkin.

The men's choir of the Alma-Ata diocese under the direction of Deacon Alexander Pivny sang.

At the special litany, special prayers were offered for the health and prosperity of the now named Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'.

The sermon on the sacramental verse was delivered by Priest Georgy Sidorov.

After the dismissal of the Liturgy, the glorification of the Holy Resurrection of Christ and the enlighteners of the Slavs - the Equal-to-the-Apostles brothers Cyril and Methodius took place, after which many years were proclaimed to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill.

At the end of the service, Metropolitan Alexander sprinkled the worshipers with holy water, congratulated the clergy and flock on the day of remembrance of the Slavic enlighteners and delivered a sermon.
