May 11, 2024. Alma-Ata. At the end of the Divine Liturgy in the Peter and Paul Church, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan congratulated the rector of the church, Archpriest Vladimir Shklyar, on the significant date - his 70th birthday.
In consideration of his work for the benefit of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan and in connection with the anniversary date of his birth, the Head of the Metropolitan District awarded Archpriest Vladimir Shklyar a high award - the Order of Merit for the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan.
Presenting the high award, Metropolitan Alexander, in particular, noted: “For many years you have been carrying out church obediences and pastoral labors in the blessed land of Kazakhstan. The past years have been filled with work for you for the benefit of Holy Orthodoxy on Kazakhstani soil. The temple you erected in honor of the holy supreme apostles Peter and Paul today adorns the southern capital. You try to kindle the saving fire of Christ’s faith in the souls of people, strive to be a spiritual father and mentor for your flock, “who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation” (Is. 52:7). You spend all the time of your priestly work in active concern for the people of God, strengthening people’s love for the moral ideals of the Gospel, calling believers to unswervingly follow the divine law in all spheres of life.”
The Metropolitan wished Father Vladimir health, longevity and God's help in his further pastoral work for the benefit of the Holy Church in the land of Semirechye, and presented him with a holy prosphora and a bouquet of flowers.
