The clergy of Kostanay honored the memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War

May 9, 2024. Kostanay. On Victory Day, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the clergy of the city churches honored the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War..
In the Chapel of All Saints, a prayer service of thanks to the Lord God for the grant of victory and a funeral litany for the deceased soldiers were performed. The services were led by the secretary of the Kostanay diocese, Hieromonk Gennady (Burdyuzha).
Parishioners of the city's churches gathered to prayerfully honor the memory of the fallen heroes.
At the end of the litany, accompanied by the singing of the Easter troparion, the clergy, on behalf of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, laid a wreath at the Victory Memorial. The clergy proclaimed “Eternal Memory” to “the leaders and warriors who laid down their lives on the battlefield, who died from wounds and hunger, who were innocently tortured and killed in captivity and bitter labor, and who labored for everyone for the sake of Victory.”
