The service of the vicars of the Astana diocese on the feast of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem

With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the vicars of the Astana diocese performed services for the week of Vai, the feast of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem in the churches of the southern capital.

On April 28, the manager of the affairs of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen, celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom at the Vladimir Church in the Baganashil microdistrict of Almaty.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were: the clergyman of the Vladimir Church, Hieromonk Sergius (Vnukovsky), and the cleric of the St. Nicholas Cathedral in the city of Alma-Ata, Hierodeacon Afanasy (Kozel).

The choir of the Vladimir Church under the direction of G. Belitsky sang.

The liturgy ended with glorification of the holiday: the choir and clergy performed the troparion and kontakion of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem. Then the blessing of willow branches took place.

At the end of the service, Bishop Gennady thanked the clergy and parishioners for their common prayer and addressed those present with words of edification.

The vicar of the Astana diocese, Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan, celebrated the Liturgy at the representative office of the Taldykorgan vicariate - the church in honor of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Alatau microdistrict of the city of Almaty.

Concelebrating with the archpastor were: Abbot Gabriel (Tutberidze), Archpriest Vladimir Glukhikh, Priest Nikolai Matlashov, Deacon Grigory Levchenko, Hierodeacon Veniamin (Vdovin), Deacon Rustik Yakupov.

The choir of the Annunciation Church sang under the direction of A. Averyanova.

Praying during the service were Orthodox residents of the Alatau microdistrict and believers from surrounding settlements.

The sermon on the sacramental verse was delivered by Deacon Rustik Yakupov.

The vicar of the Astana diocese, Bishop Veniamin of Talgar, celebrated the Liturgy in the church in honor of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the Karasu microdistrict of the city of Almaty.

Concelebrating with the hierarch were: the clergyman of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross, Priest Roman Burdukov, the clergy of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross, Hieromonk Vladimir (Mishchenko), Hieromonk Levkiy (Ershov), Deacon Alexy Kanushin, and Deacon Pavel Kornienko.

The chants of the Liturgy were performed by the choir of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in the Southern capital under the direction of N. Burdukova.

His Eminence offered prayers for the increase of love and the eradication of all hatred and malice.
