The visit of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan to the Ust-Kamenogorsk diocese has begun

On April 20, 2024, the visit of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan to the Ust-Kamenogorsk diocese of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District began.
The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan is accompanied on the trip by: Vicar of the Astana Diocese, Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan, Head of the Administrative Secretariat of the Head of the Metropolitan District, Priest Georgy Sidorov, Protodeacon Sergiy Kulikov, Deacon Rustik Yakupov; Metropolitan's assistants I. Yatsenko, M. Kalmykov and I. Mikhailov.
At the airport, the Head of the Metropolitan District and the accompanying delegation were met by Archbishop Amfilohiy of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk, and Secretary of the Diocese Deacon Ilya Kvan.
From the airport, Metropolitan Alexander arrived at the Church of the Intercession, which today celebrates the 20th anniversary of the revival of liturgical life.
On April 20, in the St. Andrew's Cathedral of Ust-Kamenogorsk, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan will perform an all-night vigil (starting at 16:00).
The visit program includes communication with the clergy, meetings with representatives of the secular authorities of the city and region and leaders of public associations.
On April 21, Metropolitan Alexander will lead the Divine Liturgy service in the main church of the Ust-Kamenogorsk diocese (starts at 9:00).
