A meeting of the board members of the Union of Orthodox Women in the Alma-Ata diocese took place in the southern capital

April 4, 2024. Alma-Ata. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a meeting of the board members of the Union of Orthodox Women (UOW) in the southern capital was held in the spiritual, cultural and administrative center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District named after Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov).

The meeting was headed by the vicar of the Astana diocese, Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan.

The meeting was attended by: Chairman of the regional branch of the UOJ, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, Head of the Culture Department of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District L. Goricheva; Secretary of the organization K. Murka, Secretary of the Commission for Youth Affairs of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District E. Zvonar, N. Gaichenya (Cathedral of Christ the Savior of the Southern capital), A. Blednykh (Alexander Nevsky Church in Almaty).

After the general prayer, Bishop Claudian greeted those present and announced the agenda of the meeting.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the organization of events dedicated to a significant date for the Metropolitan District - the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Astana and Alma-Ata diocese on the territory of the Republic. As part of the celebration of the historical date, members of the board of the women's council planned to hold a charity fair at the St. Nicholas Cathedral of the southern capital and a concert at the Solnyshko orphanage in the village of Tuimebaeva, Ili district.

During the meeting, those present formed and approved the agenda for the next meeting of the members of the board of directors of “SJV” in the southern capital.

His Eminence thanked those present for participating in the event and expressed hope for further productive cooperation.
