The funeral service for Mitred Archpriest Anatoly Abakuk took place in the St. Nicholas Cathedral

March 26, 2024. Chimkent. The funeral service for the cleric of the Chimkent diocese, Mitred Archpriest Anatoly Abakuk, took place in the St. Nicholas Cathedral.
Father Anatoly reposed in the Lord at the age of 68.
The funeral service was led by Bishop Chrysanthus of Chimkent and Turkestan.
On the eve of the burial, a farewell to Father Anatoly was organized in St. Nicholas Cathedral. The Gospel was read over the deceased clergyman.
The following people prayed during the funeral service: the diocesan clergy, relatives, friends and spiritual children of the deceased shepherd.
The choir of the main church of the diocese sang under the direction of E.V. Aleshina.
Before the funeral service began, the hierarch said words of condolences. His Eminence spoke about the meaning and significance of church burial as parting words for the departed to eternal life and called on all those present to fervently pray for the newly deceased.
The administrator of the Chimkent diocese announced the condolences of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
The funeral service ended with the proclamation of “Eternal Memory.”
The coffin with the body of the deceased shepherd was surrounded around St. Nicholas Cathedral while the canon of Great Saturday was chanted “By the Wave of the Sea.”
Father Anatoly was buried in the cemetery in the village. Koksaek (formerly Georgievka).
