The stay of the ark with the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Kostanay diocese has ended

From March 29 to March 31, 2024, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the great shrine of Orthodoxy was in the Kostanay diocese - the ark with part of the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia.

On March 29, the evening of Friday of the 2nd week of Great Lent, the shrine was located in the Constantine and Helena Cathedral of Kostanay, where the Head of the Metropolitan District, co-served by the diocesan clergy, celebrated the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts.

On March 30, the day of remembrance of St. Alexy, the man of God, the relics of the great saint of God were in the St. John the Theological Cathedral in the city of Rudny, where Metropolitan Alexander celebrated the Divine Liturgy.

On March 31, on the day of remembrance of St. Gregory Palamas, Archbishop of Thessaloniki, the ark with the relics was in the main church of the diocese, where the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan celebrated the Liturgy.

The bringing of the revered shrine of Orthodoxy to the Kostanay land became a spiritual gift to believers in the year of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Astana and Alma-Ata diocese on the territory of the Republic.

Over 15 thousand people venerated the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
