March 10, 2024. Uralsk The premiere of the documentary film “In the Holy Footsteps” took place at the Sunday school of the Intercession Convent.

The 30-minute film tells about the holy new martyrs and confessors of the 20th century who were in Uralsk as repressed people. In particular, the film mentions: the holy confessor Nikolai (Mogilevsky), Metropolitan Nikolai of Alma-Ata and Kazakhstan; Hieromartyrs Seraphim (Zvezdinsky), Veniamin (Voskresensky) and Konstantin Lyubomudrov, presbyter; Venerable Martyr Leo (Egorov), Venerable Confessor Georgy (Lavrov),

The film was shot with the blessing of Bishop Vianor of the Ural and Atyrau. The cameraman and editor, Denis Spiridonov, as well as students from the Sunday school at the Intercession Convent, worked on its creation. The author of the documentary was the famous Kazakh historian and local historian Vladimir Vladimirovich Kutishchev.

The presentation of the film was attended by: Archbishop Anthony (Moskalenko), Bishop of Ural and Atyrau Vianor, dean of the Ural church district Archimandrite Dionysius (Kozulev), clergy of the Ural diocese, abbess of the Intercession Convent Abbess Varvara (Morozova), students of the Sunday school at the Intercession Convent, parishioners churches in the city of Uralsk.

Before the start of the screening, the author of the film, V.V. Kutishchev, addressed those present, who told the audience about the concept of the film and the peculiarities of the work of the film crew.

After the screening, those present at the presentation were able to ask their questions and communicate with the creator of the film, Vladimir Vladimirovich Kutishchev

At the end of the event, Bishop Vianor presented letters of gratitude to all project participants and thanked them for their efforts. “It is not for nothing that the land of Kazakhstan is called an open-air antimens. Through the blood of martyrs and confessors, and through their prayers, we are established today in peace and piety. It is joyful that now we can find out the names of the newly-minted saints who suffered on the Ural land, that young people are involved in the study of history,” the archpastor noted, in particular.
