A meeting took place between Metropolitan Alexander and the Secretary of the Eurasian Cultural Foundation E.P. Parfentyeva

February 4, 2023. Alma-Ata. In the fireplace hall of the spiritual, cultural and administrative center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District named after St. Joseph (Chernov), a meeting was held between Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan with the President of the Eurasian Cultural Foundation E.P. Parfentyeva.

Elena Pavlovna Deputy and Assistant to the President of the Eurasian Cultural Foundation E.M. Kanapyanov - a famous composer, member of the Union of Composers of Kazakhstan, public figure and philanthropist.

The meeting was attended by acting Rector of the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov, Vice-Rector for Educational Work of the Alma-Ata Seminary Priest Ioann Livinsky, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Alma-Ata Seminary Priest Petr Bakhtiyarov.

After exchanging greetings, Metropolitan Alexander told the guest about the life and activities of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, especially highlighting the cultural, spiritual and educational projects carried out under the auspices of the Metropolitan District.

In turn, Elena Pavlovna shared with the archpastor information about the work of the Eurasian Cultural Fund, created in December 2004 to establish, improve and expand cultural cooperation between institutions, organizations and cultural figures, to promote the cultural heritage and traditions of the Eurasian peoples.

At the end of the meeting, a representative of the foundation’s management presented a diploma and a personal scholarship from the Eurasian Cultural Foundation to third-year seminary student Ilya Vorobyov, who showed excellent results in mastering the taught disciplines and showed active participation in organizing and conducting cultural and educational events.

As a souvenir of the acquaintance, Metropolitan Alexander presented the guest with publications telling about Orthodoxy in Kazakhstan.
